Legislative Update
"The House and Senate released the session schedule for the 2008 session. Both the House and Senate are scheduled to return on January 9th and 10th, but will not return again until February 13th. The session calendar indicates that the scheduled adjournment date is May 29th." Source: Illinois Chamber of Commerce
"The Lake County Board approved the Fiscal Year 2008 Budget at its regular meeting on November 13, 2007. The total budget is $450,022,261. While this represents an increase of 5.86% from FY2007, citizens should be aware this includes revenue that is generated from other sources, not from local taxpayers - like state and federal grants for the health department. Also, the increase includes millions of dollars for one-time capital improvements using cash available in the County coffers." Source: Communications@co.lake.il.us
